St. Patrick's Day Nails

This is the first nail design I've ever done and I know it's not perfect, but I think it would be really fun for St. Patrick's Day! Somehow this is looking a lot cooler in real life than on this picture. I hope you enjoy it. What are your plans for St. Patrick's Day this year? Do you celebrate it?

When I lived in Montreal I always saw the big Paddy's Day parade, then drunk the night away in an Irish brew pup with friends, swilling green beer and listening to Irish folk music. Ah, the memories of my student days!

Alice in Wonderland

I went to see Alice in Wonderland today in 3D and had a great time! What a lovely fairytale! I personally liked it a lot, although the film has gotten some negative reviews. Meh, whatever, I went purely to delve into Tim Burton's vision of Wonderland and it was a thrilling adventure indeed. I love how he re-interpreted the fantasy world, the rich colors, the mesmerizing costumes of all the characters, the makeup - it was a visual feast. Storyline comes second in such a movie, in my opinion. When I go to see a 3D movie, I want to have a visual orgasm. I don't care too much about the story. The same reason I loved Avatar - great movie, awful story. But really, who cares?? I'm there to enjoy the ride, that's all.

I loved all the costumes, how cute were all the versions of Alice's blue dress? Her red dress at the palace of the Red Queen was so couture! Stunning!! I also thought the Cheshire cat was so cute, I loved how his coloring was gray and teal. I was very inspired by the movie, so as soon as I got home tonight I ordered this wig:

I hope it arrives soon!! It's being sent all the way from China, gotta love cheap deals on eBay. Can you guess what it will be for?

Anyway, if you are into 3D movies and just want to be entertained for 2 hours, I definitely recommend you check out this movie.

Illamasqua Wink

This nailpolish is fantastic! What a beautiful colour for spring, it's a pastel lavender cream which applies smoothly and evenly. It's maybe a tad on the thick side but overall this color is gorgeous! It's a part of their spring collection, which has 4 different pastel shades, including also a pale blue, a minty green, and a chickadee yellow shade.

Longer Eyelashes with Lilash

In this video I review LiLash and LiBrow, two products I have been testing and using since April 2009. I have had very good results with these products and have noticed that the length of my eyelashes has increased. A lot of my subscribers have actually asked me if I'm wearing false lashes in videos, when in fact they were my natural lashes, enhanced by LiLash.

Watch the video if you want to know how this product works, my experiences with it, pros and cons, etc. LiLash and LiBrow cost $139.97 USD per vial, which is steep, but for me the investment has very much been worth it. You apply it once a day in a line, as if you are applying liquid eyeliner. The product is a clear gel, and lasts for longer than 6 months. In this video, you can see the maximum length my lashes reached using LiLash. I took a break from the product for a while, but am currently on the wagon again and using it daily.

You can purchase LiLash from their website here. I personally would not feel good about buying these products on eBay or Amazon Marketplace sellers due to the risk of counterfeit products which might contain potentially harmful or simply mystery ingredients.

MissChievous for Lancome Germany

I am thrilled to share some exciting news with you: Lancome Germany has given me the opportunity to present videos for them on my Youtube channel! Lancome is of course a household name with anyone into beauty and cosmetics, and I was recently introduced to trying their products around Christmas time last year. I am overjoyed to be able to work together with Lancome Germany, and will soon present to you, my dear viewers and readers, an upcoming video for this prestigious brand.

OPI Bastille My Heart

Todays nails of the day are OPI Bastille My Heart. This red polish came out with the France collection. It doesn't show quite accurately on this picture, it's deeper in real life, like a deep crimson red. I'm not huge on red nails, but every now and then it tickles my fancy.

This actually came about because I filmed a video tonight on how I manicure my nails, so I picked the brightest color so it shows up really well on film. Filming the manicure video was so much fun actually, that it's made me consider getting into nail art. I'm not huge on nail art as I think a large part of it just looks really tacky, but I have seen some designs that looked really good, especially those of the "less is more" variety.

Would you be interested in seeing some nail art videos from me? I have a feeling it might be something I could get good at since I love artsy stuff in general, and I'm pretty decent with a paint brush. Although I have no idea what type of brushes are suitable for nail art, can you just use normal art brushes? Can you use normal nail polish, or does it have to be thinned down a bit?

I'd be happy for any input or tips in the comments!! Oh and the manicure video will be coming up soon on my Youtube channel. It's been so frequently requested but I was never able to do it before without a good tripod, which I have now! Yay for sturdy set-ups.

German Carnival Makeup

This look is inspired by Carnival, which is traditionally celebrated in February (I think) in Germany, as well as some neighbouring European countries like Switzerland and Austria. It's similar to Mardi Gras, which is more known in North America. I decided to go for a really colourful, cheerful, and creative mask as it's a great idea for wearing to a masked ball, and an opportunity to practice your skills.

Kim Kardashian Cat Eye

This look was inspired by Kim Kardashian's sultry sexy look that she wore in a photoshoot for her 2009 calendar. In the last imge I have used the wonders of Photoshop to give that blue glow, similar to what was done on Kim's image. You can see the similarity once the colors are adjusted like this!

I love this look and it would be perfect for a sexy date when you want to look extra smoldering and sultry. Perfect for Valentine's Day too!

Andro Look

This look seems very androgynous to me; the eyes are extremely heavy and intense, while the rest of the face is scultped and contoured, and the lips are just erased. I personally love this, it's one of my favorite looks I've done in weeks! I hope you enjoy it as well. This would be perfect for a New Years clubbing event, when you can get away with the heavy dramatic makeup without looking totally out of place.

Vancouver Event 2009

Thanks so much to all my guests for coming to the Vancouver Event 2009! It was so great meeting you all and I hope everyone had as wonderful a time as I did.

Some more pictures from the event! The location was at Earls Restaurant in Yaletown. Unfortunately some people had already left before we had a chance to take the group picture. The raffle was a huge success! I wish I could have gotten everyone a present but I hope the winners enjoyed their gifts.
