Brigitte Bardot - Beauty Through the Ages

I haven't done a look for my Beauty through the Ages theme in ages. I feel like I've been neglecting it, kinda got a bit bored with it so I thought it's best to leave it be and come back when I feel inspired again. I've been wanting to do a Brigitte Bardot inspired look forever. The Bardot look is so retro and so 60s without being overly dramatic like Twiggy or other icons; it remains feminine and sultry. These are the pictures I used for inspiration:

And here's the tutorial!

(BN = Ben Nye)

Face
Revlon Colorstay foundation in Ivory, BN blush in Natural and Latte, Benefit HighBeam

Eyes
MAC Untitled Paint, BN e/s in Toast, Natural, Apricot, Cork, Dark Brown, MAC Carbon e/s, Lancaster black kajal pencil liner, black gel eyeliner (generic eBay one), Maybelline white pencil, L'Oreal Voluminous Carbon Black mascara

Lips
Rimmel Tiramisu lipliner, MAC lipsticks in Myth and All Revealing

Please check back to vote on tutorials in the future on my blog!

Hey Julia,

I love your new makeup tutorial, I think it's absolutely gorgeous. Definitely one of my favourite. I know you don't have all the time in the world which I do appreciate however I was wondering if you have the time if you could tell me what eye shadows you would use from the 88 Matte palette for this look. I'm not exactly the greatest at matching things, lol. Also, could you suggest a lipstick that isn't MAC? Drugstore is fine, I don't mind but I don't have the MAC one. ;[

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Please continue to do more videos, you're by far absolutely fantastic and you should be so proud of yourself for what you have accomplished. It's also nice to hear a fellow Canadian accent that lives in Europe. (:

Much love,

Caitlin

Very 60's. I used to wear my eye makeup like this in the late 60's. I don't think I could do that now ;) Lots of black eyeliner was a necessity back then or you felt naked going out anywhere. We also wore the pastel lipsticks but I was into corals mostly because I didn't care for the pasty look of the lighter lipsticks. I still don't =) I don't think we used lip liners however at least I don't remember using them. White shiny nail polish was a favorite back then too. Love the look!

I've never heard of Brigitte Bardot before, but I think it's kindof awesome that she can remain beautiful with somewhat gappy teeth. I have gappy teeth and can't afford to get braces, and I'm always too self conscious to show my teeth in pictures, it makes me think my smile is ugly. I can really appreciate a model who can show off her teeth - it makes me feel a bit better about mine. :)
