I decided to use the Double Stack palette that I previously reviewed for creating this dramatic purple smokey eye look. I really like how it came out! The purples are more blue toned which is definitely my preference for purple eye makeup. What are some of your favorite purple eyeshadows? Let me know in the comments.

I actually don't like the lighting in my videos - well it's ok but it's not perfect. I'm thinking of buying some new lights for videos, a blue-toned fluorescent light to cancel out the yellow-ness of my halogen lights. If you watch my live vanity/collection video you can see exactly how I'm set up and what lights I use.

Could you do this look with the 78/88 matte/shimmer palettes easily enough? I reckon I have enough eyeshadow to last me forever but this look is convincing me otherwise, purple is my absolute FAVOURITE colour and this is one of the best purple looks I've seen!

I love the look. A friend of mines bought the double stack palette for my birthday which is monday but I received it earlier this morning. I'm definitely going to try this look because I love the blue reflection that the purple is giving off, it's so pretty!. Hopefully it looks as pretty on my complextion as it does on yours!

DO you know instead of using a tape, you can extend your eyeliner, to make your eyelid 'wider'?
do u use a base before the nyx shadow stix? sometimes they crease on me, but id like to use them more, since they're gr8 colors! tips pls. thx and keep up the great job of your tuts! big fan here

it's very useful!! i'm japanese. so, unfortunately i can't make up exact like you.(coz, we are not same race, so we have different figure of eyes, nose, etc...) BUT.

My favorite MAC shadow happens to be a dark purplish blue- "Contrast". And I also love "Nocturnelle".

Hi I am onlu new on tutorials but i love yours, you are already my favourite, i did the vampire makeup for halloween last year and altough is wasn't as nice as yours everybody loved it, thanks! i may continue practicing i don't use to wear make up so i am a mess and get dissapointed everytime i try to replicate one of your tutorials and doesn't look as nice as yours.

Really awesome...I became addicted tu u'r tuts, so much that for any outings or weddings I go through your videos to decide which look i'm going to make...the funniest part is the PC placed on my vanity and me ramaging through my make up and brushes to keep up with you, thanks so much for sharing your know how :)
