Makeup for Glasses Wearers

This video was made in partnership with a non-profit vision benefits care company named VSP, but I've had many requests on general makeup tips for glasses wearers so this seemed like a great opportunity to finally make a video like this. Wearing glasses doesn't mean you can't wear bold and colorful looks, but in this video I show you some basic techniques and tricks that are universal to all makeup looks for glasses. I decided to go for a more toned down, neutral daytime look.

Face
Revlon Colorstay foundation in Ivory, Ben Nye concealer wheel, MAC Blot Powder, NYX Angel blush

Eyes
Revlon Illuminance Cream eyeshadow quad in Not Just Nudes, 28-neutral palette from ebay, L'Oreal Carbon Gloss superliner, Revlon Fabulash waterproof mascara, MAC Dazzlelight e/s, Max Factor eye kohl in Natural Glaze

Lips
MAC Hue lipstick

Nails
Maybelline Blue Sapphire

I've had so many questions about the frames. They are Revlon RV569 in Berry Lace. The brushes I used are mostly from MAC and Hakuhodo.

Loved the video and also that you seem to have used a lot more Revlon which is closer to my meager budget!

A question if anyone can answer it though... What is the coverage of Revlons Colourstay foundation like though?

I loved that!
I've worn glases since I was thirteen, and for the longest time I could never figure out how to do my make-up.

My personal favourite look with glasses now is a BOLD lip (Dark red, candy apple red, MAC's Show Orchid) with just mascara.

First of all, love this video. The voice over really does add a professional element. One question: what is the large brush you use for the setting powder near the end, before the blush? Thanks :)

Thank you for this video, Julia.

I love the shape of these glasses, but I can't find them on the website, would you be so kind and show where they are ?

Thanks a lot !

Love the video. Although I do like it better when you don't do voice overs.
Great job!

Hiya, this is great although I really can not see a thing when i'm putting on makeup when not wearing my contacts. I literally am inside the mirror i'm that close! I try to keep it much more simple but a go to town with my eyes when i'm wearing my contact lenses!
Love your videos though, keep them coming
xx

What was the eyebrow pencil you used? It came out really good..whenever I try and use powder it comes out too dark.

Thanks,
Rebecca

Thanks for such a great tutorial! I can't wait to try out the techniques.

One question -- why do you recommend liquid eyeliner? I typically shy away from it as I mess up applying it so often. Is it better for glasses wearers?

Thanks again for your ideas. I linked to your site on Just Eyewear's blog at justeyewear.com/blog. Hopefully it will help others find this resource, too!

hey - any tips on makeups for sensitive eyes? I typically use Almay or other hyperallergenic stuff. I guess I could compare colors to those brands.

I am very impressed by the quality of glassed in this pair, looking stunning. With the makeup wearing it will look more elegant than we expected.
