Maybelline - Blue Sapphire

Neither the name nor the color of the polish is particularly unique, but I do love this deep almost navy blue shimmer nailpolish and have been meaning to own a shade like this for a while. Who would have thought that Maybelline actually produces funky colors now and then? Here our drugstore nailpolish color variety is a sea of safe pinks, reds, browns and french manicure sheers. *Yawn*

I noticed that this nailpolish "pulls" a bit (meaning it leaves some bald spots on the nails through uneven coating) but that might be because I used OPI Nail Envy as a base, which I've really fallen out of love with. It's just too slippery and doesn't grab the polish at all.

However, I'm really lusting after the OPI Holiday Wishes 2009 collection ever since Scrangie posted up her fabulous swatches! This collection will be available soon on transdesign.com and I feel a big nailpolish order coming on. I'm out of Seche Vite and Nailtek Foundation II; need to replenish my stock! I think I might order the large refill bottles this time, plus there's some other polishes I've set my eyes on.

What's on your nails, and are there any collections you're looking forward to? Let me know in the comments.

Nothing's on my nails at the moment cause school doesn't allow me to :( But earlier this week I was wearing a color that looks very similar to it (Aruba Blue by Essie). Do you put a black coat underneath it or that's the kind of finish the polish gives your nails?

I am wearing Nina Ultra ProNail Polish Carribean Blue. I'm trying very hard not to purchase anymore nail polish since my last nail polish haul was really shameful. http://i49.photobucket.com/albums/f278/jazzie142/blue-1.jpg

Believe it or not, I have ELF polish on my nails. Put it on 5 days ago and it's still there.
I use Barielle Clearly Noticeable Nail Thickener as a base and Seche Vite for topcoat. I am really surprise how well this polish is holding up. I'm usually wearing OPI, China Glaze or Zoya but wanted to see what $1 nail polish was like. The one I'm wearing is Berry Pink and I love the color. I may go back and buy all of them just to test them all.

I'm wearing one of Avon's new colours, Textured Teal. Their quality always surprises me, since this bottle only cost $2.99. It lasted nearly a week before it started to chip, and I'm hard on my nails. The colour's similar to what you're wearing. A bit darker, though, and no sparkles. Jjack48 wore it in this video (she starts talking about it at around 1:55). She's only wearing one coat; it gets a bit darker with a second.

It looks a lot like the Revlon midnight affair nail enamel. I love this deep blue color.

Julia, I cannot believe how blessed you are to have such beautiful nails. The picture above looks like an ad. I have only been bitten by the you tube bug a few weeks ago. I love your videos. I also subscribe to your other change and love hearing about Switzerland, it's very beautiful. Hope you're having a great day. Oh my nails are bare. :-(

Very nice colour, at the moment, i have Barry M's Grey on my nails and as base i always use Maybelline's Salon Manicure Anit-Breakage Nails for Brittle, Fragile Nails. Even though i dont have that problem with my nails, i highly recommend this base. It grabs the polish very well. And to top it with OPI Top Coat and Drip Dry and i am set. :)
