My Drugstore Foundation Routine

I won't lie: I love my Nars Sheer Glow foundation, but sometimes I pinch pennies by using drugstore products to give my wallet a break. Here are the products I use and how I achieve a fresh, glowing face look.

One note: I have never been truly happy with drugstore concealers. In my opinion, this is the one product from my face routine that I would say is definitely worth the extra money. I've never found any drugstore concealer that lasts for a long time, or has enough pigmentation to neutralize dark circles or blemishes. I've wasted so much money over time trying out drugstore concealers, probably more than I would have had I just bought a good high end one. I do use drugstore concealers for the sake of this video, but to be honest, the results are not as good as my concealers from Ben Nye, Makeup Forever, Makeup Store, and Lancome.

I love Aveeno's tinted moisturizer. It adds a bit of extra coverage so for the day to day I don't have to use a primer. It's also SPF 15 or 30 I believe... I also love Physician's Formula eye booster liquid eyeliner as it really does have a noticeable effect on my eyelashes!

What concealer do you use as a spot treatment if you ever have skin issues? The ones I have used have tended to flake by the end of the day and it's quite obvious that I have concealer there... I currently use a MAC concealer and still have that issue...

Very nice update Julia :) Could you do a tutorial just talking about concealer (colored or not colored, in which case should I apply and in which order... etc)? Sometimes I like to use after primer, but sometimes I think is best after foundation... But I don't know fir sure the technique!

I think is important to talk about different products. For exemple... where I live MAC is so expensive (on account of taxes). We have 60% in taxes for makeup products, I guess. To much, hun?! I'm trying MAC now because I bought outside!

Thanks :)

Hey!

I recommend you to use purple cream to neutralise the dark eye circles.
OR
use pink if your eye circles are slightly blueish.

I have been using purple cream to cover before I use my original eye concealer. WORKS all the time.

My eye concealer is LA Girl- HD concealor.

Hope this helped!
